What is The Chase?

The Chase is a real-life team pursuit through Berlin. Escapers keep moving and stay hidden while Chasers read the clues, coordinate their search, and close in before the clock runs out.

  • Escapers get a head start and must stay free until time runs out.
  • Chasers coordinate, anticipate their route, and close in for the catch.
  • Both sides use Clue Points at the right moment to gain an advantage.

The GeoGuessr edition

This Berlin special turns the chase into a location puzzle. Escapers and Chasers use 360° video clues to work out where the action is unfolding and make every decision count.

  • No live-location shortcut and no transport clue.
  • Read landmarks, signs, architecture, and street details from 360° videos.
  • Use Freeze tactically to buy time or prepare a catch.

GeoGuessr rules

Everything you need to know before you step into the special edition.

01

Read the city

Chasers receive a 360° video clue and must recognise the location. They activate a Scenic View clue point, then use what they see to decide where to search next.

02

Use clues wisely

There are only two clue points in this edition: Scenic View and Freeze. Escapers can use Freeze; Chasers can use both. A clue point must be activated before it can help your team.

03

Play the clock

A round lasts a maximum of two hours, or until the Escapers are caught. No running is allowed. Escapers may not use public transport during the final 30 minutes; Chasers can still use every available option.

04

Come prepared

Every player needs a valid public-transport ticket for Berlin. Bring a charged phone, stay aware of your surroundings, and keep your team moving together.
